Fans say retailer Shein has ‘lost the plot’ with clothing range for hamsters

Many are saying the online fashion brand has 'gone too far' with its range of clothes, accessories and toys for tiny animals

Online fashion brand Shein has left shoppers completely confused - and some, amused - with its latest range of pet clothes and accessories. And while it might not be unusual to see fashion items for the likes of cats and dogs, people have said the retailer has 'lost the plot' and 'gone too far' with its range for hamsters.

Within its 'pets' section, customers will be able to buy hamster-sized headphones, tiny knitted hats, a toy motorbike and various other items for their little furry friend. One accessory up for grabs is even a fake pair of teeny tiny black rimmed glasses, for just 75p.

There is also a set of patterned knit jumpers on sale for £2.25, plus a green fog-themed knit beanie hat for £2.50. Other items include black sunglasses for £1 and even extra small leashes for pet owners who wish to take their hamsters out for a stroll.

But one particular item has been capturing people's attention the most - a pair of miniature shark designed slippers. Priced at £1.75, they come in various different colours and currently have more than 100 reviews.

One happy shopper commented: "So cute, can't wait to put them on my hedgehog." Another put: "Really cute! Absolutely love them." A third added: "Bit big for my dwarf hamster but cute novelty."

Meanwhile, on social media, the 'bizarre' range of clothes, accessories and - of course - shoes, have baffled many. On Twitter, alongside a screenshot of the shark-themed hamster slippers, Piercerkenzie declared: "Shein has officially lost it y’all, not hamster slides."

Kenzianidiot added: "Sometimes i go to the shein website just to see the insane s*** in the pet section and this time did not disappoint." Limon33 wrote back: "I am in tears. I am now browsing myself. Hubs looking at me like I am crazy so now I must show him every ridiculous one."

Jocelyn111111 exclaimed: "Shein has gone too far this time, with the f****** HAMSTER SHARK SLIDES. I'm literally losing it right now."

H_M_Cassidy laughed: "I’ve accidentally found an odd part of SHEIN…. Type in ‘clog charms’ and this is what comes up. I only wanted ladybug charms for my daughters crocs, what hamster wears glasses, what dog wears bikinis? What parrot dresses up, who dries their dog like this???"

Ganjaamaammii observed: "Shein sells little slippers for your hamster and leashes for your lizards..." RissaVoices typed: "THERE ARE CHANCLAS FOR HAMSTER FEETS ON @SHEIN_Official. THIS IS NOT A DRILL."
