Joomra slippers review for plantar fasciitis

Apr 03, 2023Apr 03, 2023

Looks like my years in heels and poor footwear choices finally caught up with me: Last year, I learned that the reason behind my sudden heel pain is plantar fasciitis. It's only in one foot and it sometimes makes walking unbearably painful, especially first thing in the morning or after long periods of standing or sitting. My entire shoe wardrobe had to get a major revamp, and while I found plenty of sneakers with ample cushioning (like my beloved Hokas), I had a much harder time finding slippers that provide that same level of comfort. Thankfully for my ever-so-tired tootsies, I found a pair that actually provided support, cushion, and — dare I say it? — didn't look so hideous that I couldn't let my neighbors see me in them.

The Joomra Pillow Slippers feel precisely as the name suggests — pillows. They have a 1.7-inch foam sole that truly feels weightless but still cradles my sore heels. They're insanely lightweight, plus they required virtually zero break-in time. I slipped these on fresh out of the box and have had zero blisters or friction. They're so comfortable, I wish I discovered them years ago, plantar fasciitis or not.

They're durable too: I've had the same pair for over a year now, and they still look just as good as they did the first day. I have them in a light color, and they don't look dirty, banged-up, or have so much as a scuff or scratch on them. If they do get a scuff, they're so easy to clean — just wipe 'em with a damp towel. I'm pretty sure they're indestructible — they must be, considering they're my most-worn shoe by a mile.

No wonder they're an Amazon No. 1 bestseller. Every time I take off whatever shoes I was wearing that day and slip into these, all the tension and pain in my heel just dissipates. I know that feels overdramatic, but it really is kind of magical: I have wood floors in my home, and these absorb any shock while providing traction, so they feel sturdy, secure and as close to walking on clouds as you can possibly get from a slipper.

They're not entirely without flaws, however: Despite having a generous heel cup, they don't offer much arch support, so if you're someone with flat feet, these might not be for you. Plus, the EVA material, while absurdly comfortable, doesn't help cool your feet on really hot days. Neither of those qualities are dealbreakers to me, but if you live in a really hot climate, know that they might not be best for triple-digit-temp days.

Amazon shoppers with foot pain seem to love them as much as I do. "These are so comfortable," shares one. "I suffer from plantar fasciitis and I use these around my house to help support and cushion my feet. They help relieve pain of walking around and over time have conformed to my feet. The more you wear them, the softer and more comfortable they become!"

"I have plantar fasciitis and arthritis in my feet and sometimes they hurt when I walk," shared another of the nearly 18,000 five-star reviewers. "I slip these babies on and the pain totally vanishes. I go from every step being painful to NO PAIN. I don't even notice that I have feet anymore! Ha!"

No exaggeration: These just might be the comfiest shoes you'll own.

"These slides are great!" shared an incredulous fan. "It's like an anti-fatigue mat under your feet, but at all times!"
