Options from Bombas and Birkestock came out on top in our testing.

WHEN THE MAJORITY of your day is spent on your feet, nothing says a little R&R like the best men’s slippers. No, these cozy slip-ons aren't just for grandpas—they're the easiest way to recharge and pamper yourself after a long day of work or rigorous workout session.

Today’s slippers are made with ultra-soft shearling, insulation for optimal warmth and durable outsoles to provide excellent traction on multiple surfaces. From camping styles to mule silhouettes, we dipped our toes and tested over 30 slippers that you can wear around the house and in the wild. Based on our experience, we carefully curated a list with selects from brands like Alex Mill, Bombas, and The North Face. Whether you’re likely to slip into one with your bathrobe or go the casual route with jeans and a hoodie, our selection of the best men’s slippers will cater to everyone’s needs.

The best men's slippers are all about comfort, so you want light and soft fabrics. That said, for shearling, fleece or wool for winter. You can go for cotton and knit if you want something breathable for year-round use. Genuine leather or suede uppers can add a bit of sophistication and durability, especially for those indoor-outdoor slippers.

Consider how you’ll use them—if you just want house slippers, they don’t always have any traction built in, but feature soft soles. Now if you plan on wearing your slippers outdoors, look for a sturdier, non-slip rubber outsole.

A snug fit without being too tight is key since slippers are too loose can be a tripping hazard. If you’re buying for yourself or as a gift, check for brands that run true to size, in-between size options or have a flexible return if the fit isn’t right.

Men’s Health Fashion Director Ted Stafford’s experience in men's fashion spans over two decades. In the past few years, he tasked our style team with testing over 30 different slippers to find the cream of the crop. Our staff examined picks based on arch support, fabric type, level of warmth, and style. We gave bonus points for versatility, meaning whether it was hybrid with an outdoor-ready sole but all the coziness of an indoor model. Ultimately, we narrowed down to the following nine best men’s slippers.

Bombas is mainly recognized for its comfy socks and underwear, but the premium basics brand has the slipper game down pat, too. Hence, The Sunday Slipper was crowned the winner in our testing for its next-level comfort, fit, support and versatility. No lie—it feels like your feet are getting a warm embrace by a teddy bear, thanks to the plush Sherpa lining on both the interior and the exterior. As for support, the memory foam and EVA footbed makes every step better than the last with squishy cushioning that keeps your dogs happy all day long. And the raised back helps keep your foot locked in place, so it’s not slipping out as you walk.

Even though these are designed to be your favorite indoor slippers, we found the rubber outsole helps them function for brief jaunts outside. Now they’re not meant for roaming the city streets, but you can definitely grab the mail, take out the trash, or walk your dog without needing to switch into sneakers. Top off the look with terry cloth or flannel bathrobe and get ready to go nowhere. Typically, we wear them to cozy up on the couch with popcorn, watching the newest buzzy Netflix series.

Shearling in a slipper equals all-day comfort. That’s why this version has made the cut. First off, you’ve got that classic Birkenstock cortex latex footbed—so it’s not just soft, it actually supports your feet, unlike most slippers that go flat in a week. The wool felt on the outside stays toasty but breathable, while the plush shearling inside is like walking on clouds.

During our testing, we found that the slipper molds to your feet over time—like the brand’s uber-popular Arizona sandal—offering a custom fit that only gets better with use. And with a sturdy sole, you’re set for more than just lounging—you can take these outside for a quick errand or just chill on the porch.

Ever come across a reversible house slipper? Well, Alex Mill makes one that's basically a slipper chameleon—you can flip inside out like a sock. This version lets you enjoy a buffalo check plaid one minute and snuggle into plush teddy bear softness the next—essentially double the style. It rolls up nice and compact in your bag, making it the perfect travel companion on your work trips.

At the back, there’s a stretchy ribbed heel and cushy padding in the footbed to make sure your feet are secure and comfortable. We don't recommend wearing this option outside, but it works wonders as a house shoe. Our editors described the feeling as “you're stepping on a bunch of marshmallows”. And here’s the kicker: It’s hand-sewn in Japan, so you know this option is made with the best craftsmanship and will last for years to come.

Olukai’s offering is the ultimate slipper mashup—combining the laid-back style of a loafer with the easy, slip-on convenience of a mule. The ultra-soft shearling lining keeps your feet warm and toasty from the get-go, while the tweed Italian felt and real suede rand add a touch of texture and a whole lot of class. Basically, they’ve got that elevated vibe but feel way more relaxed than your typical slipper. With its classic Hawaiian-inspired design, they look good enough to wear outside, not just in the luxury of your home.

Our testers gave them the thumbs-up for quick trips, like strolling to your local cafe or grocery store, thanks to the grippy outsole. Pair them with comfy joggers and a sweatshirt, and you’re set. When you decide to stay in, the non-marking soles won't ruin your hardwood floors. Plus, the open-back style means sliding them on and off is a breeze, making them ideal for a lazy morning or unwinding after an extensive day.

Merging indoor comfort with outdoor durability, Timberland’s leather slipper has a supreme level of versatility. Not to mention, the leather construction will have a longer lifespan than others we’ve tested, especially with the proper water and stain repellent cleaner. The minimal clog design makes it a breeze to slip and off, ideal for both lounging and grocery store runs.

Inside, you’ve got genuine shearling lining that adds an extra layer of warmth and feels like you're walking on a cloud. It also wicks away moisture, helping keep your feet dry and comfy. Outside, the rubber sole adds serious traction, so you’re less likely to slip on wet or uneven ground.

Make no mistake—these slippers aren’t too shabby to wear for occasions beyond your home. The timeless, rustic style gives them a cozy, woodsy vibe that brings a touch of that cabin feel into your everyday routine. Our fashion editors love pairing them with a flannel shirt and wide-leg jeans to grab a matcha latte or indulge in some retail therapy.

The latest rugged release from The North Face, this camping slipper has a thick outsole made to crunch over sticks, leaves, pavement, and more. The upper is made from water-resistant recycled ripstop so you're not screwed in muddy weather, and the footbed is made from a cushioned foam that's oh-so-comfortable. Best of all, Thermoball insulation is there to keep colder temps at bay as you’re out in the wild.

If you're into the Gorpcore trend—essentially streetwear but with outdoors gears—then these are the slippers for you. Based on our extensive testing, they were built to handle the woods so they can definitely take everything the burbs or city streets can throw at them. The mule style is lightweight, easy to pack and funky-looking enough to stand out from the rest. If they're a little too funky, you can tame it down with the all black option.

UGG joins timeless style with luxurious comfort in a design that’s remained popular for years. While the Ascot Slipper may capture those old-school dad vibes, the moccasin-inspired silhouette has been updated with a refined look that’s easy to wear around the house but polished enough for stepping outside. Made with the brand’s signature sheepskin lining, the slipper provides warmth, softness, and that iconic UGG coziness that’s become a favorite worldwide.

The durable, water-resistant suede paired with a sturdy rubber outsole earns it bonus points for being a killer combo. During our testing, we found the fluffy texture to feel like a cozy dream. It gives all the homey vibes, perfect for sitting by the fire and enjoying a cup of hot chocolate. Whether for yourself or as a gift, the Ascot’s tried-and-true appeal keeps its a top pick for anyone wanting a slipper with lasting style.

Sorel makes slippers just as tough as their boots. The Falcon Ridge II is a great example. A suede upper with faux shearling lining will keep your feet warm and dry out in the elements. The crepe sole is the real selling point of these scuff style slippers, since it's soft enough to not damage any floors in your house. We love that it has all the grip you need to stay sure footed on hardwood floor, yet it can also handle wet and rugged outdoors terrain. The Falcon Ridge Slipper is also soft, lightweight, and flexible.

Sorel put a molded footbed in there that will absorb the impact of your every step and gradually mold to fit the bottom of your foot. These are the ultimate indoor-outdoor slippers, whether the indoors means your apartment in the city, or a tent in the middle of the woods.

The OOFOS Thermo Mule is a total lifesaver for support for athletes, skaters, or workers who spend hours on their feet. Instead of the basic foam you’d find in your running sneakers, these are specially engineered with OOfoam technology that actually absorbs impact, easing pressure on your joints and lower back. It’s the same game-changing support we’ve experienced in the brand’s recovery sandals—perfect if your feet need a break after a long day. Our fitness editors love throwing these on after a tough workout to give their muscles a little TLC.

And let’s talk about the PrimaLoft insulation, which takes the comfort level up a notch. After a chilly day on the ice, slipping into these feels like a warm, gentle hug for your feet. Even with the quilted, puffy look, they’re lightweight and sleek. Whether you’re cruising through the airport, sitting close by a campfire or tackling chores around the house, these mules give you the right amount of boost with every step.

Distinguished by the way that the top panel of the toe box is stitched to the side panel, this design has come to be called a "moc toe," being short for moccasin, and can be found in everything from loafers to work boots. Moccasin slippers are what we most often think of as traditional slippers. They're often made from soft and flexible leather. You typically find a lace the threads around the back of the heel and through four holes punched in the tongue.

With origins dating back to the medieval France, a mule is essentially any shoe without a back, allowing for the foot to slip easily in and out. This ease-of-use feature fits naturally with slippers. A mule slipper can be anything from a moccasin or loafer design, to a fleece or wool house slipper.

House slippers are generally defined by having a soft sole that will not scuff wood floors or collect dirt. Soft soles are also more comfortable for lounging around. Moccasin-style house slippers usually have leather soles, while most other designs have fabric soles. Sometimes, small rubber griping is added for traction.

There are slippers that aren't designed for lounging at all, and are actually meant for formalwear and even black tie. Dress slippers often have a leather sole and heel. The uppers can be fabric—like needlepoint, velvet, or wool—or they can be leather. You will often find them with ornate designs like florals or paisley. This style is based on formal men's shoes from the 1700s.
